UC Davis Chancellor May Names Aisha Jackson as University’s First Chief Information and Digital Strategy Executive

University of California, Davis Chancellor Gary S. May has appointed Aisha Jackson as the university’s first chief information and digital strategy executive (CIDSE). Reporting directly to the chancellor and serving as a member of the Chancellor’s Leadership Council, Jackson will begin her new role Dec. 1, 2025. The position is a two-year term.

UC Davis Chancellor Gary S. May has appointed Mark I. Rosenblatt to the position of vice chancellor of human health sciences, overseeing UC Davis Health, which includes three hospitals: the nationally ranked UC Davis Medical Center and UC Davis Children’s Hospital, as well as the UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital. It also includes oversight for two nationally ranked schools of health — the UC Davis School of Medicine and Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing — and 17 primary care clinics serving communities across Northern California. He will begin Jan. 19, 2026.

Mohapatra, who has been the dean of graduate studies and vice provost of graduate education since 2016, will oversee an annual research funding portfolio of about $783 million (as of fiscal year 2016), and lead the university’s corporate research relations and translation of UC Davis research into knowledge and technology of significant public benefit.

Chancellor Gary S. May is launching the UC Davis Leadership Job Shadow Program.

The program will partner a student with one of 12 senior campus leaders, including the chancellor, for a full day that may include observing and participating in meetings, attending events, and meeting other staff and faculty.

Search to Launch for New UC Davis Vice Chancellor for Diversity
