Wall Street Journal Rankings: UC Davis Positions Graduates for Financial Success

Sept. 30 Correction: The Wall Street Journal rankings of UC Davis among public and all universities have been corrected to reflect errors in the original news release.

The University of California, Davis, stands second in the nation among public universities and 13th among all universities for how well it sets its graduates up for financial success in The Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2026 rankings released today (Sept. 29).

Career Center Changes Name to Better Serve Students

The UC Davis Career Center has changed its name as part of its efforts to improve accessibility for students. Executive Director Marcie Kirk Holland explained that the Career Center’s name change from the Internship and Career Center was prompted by student feedback and data from Student Affairs Marketing and Communication, or SAMC.

Students in focus groups hosted by SAMC felt that the word “internship” was implicit to “career” and therefore redundant. Furthermore, the resulting abbreviation was confusing to many students.

Program Helps BioSci Students Explore Careers

With $1.75 million in support from the Koret Foundation, the BioLaunch program at UC Davis is helping students in its College of Biological Sciences explore and prepare for careers.
