Wall Street Journal Rankings: UC Davis Positions Graduates for Financial Success

Sept. 30 Correction: The Wall Street Journal rankings of UC Davis among public and all universities have been corrected to reflect errors in the original news release.

The University of California, Davis, stands second in the nation among public universities and 13th among all universities for how well it sets its graduates up for financial success in The Wall Street Journal/College Pulse 2026 rankings released today (Sept. 29).

School pride will be swelling among University of California, Davis, students as they start fall classes Wednesday (Sept. 24).

The campus tied for No. 9 among the nation’s top public universities and earned accolades for innovation, social mobility and more in the 2026 U.S. News Best Colleges rankings, published Monday (Sept. 22).

This is the fifth consecutive year the campus has been ranked among the media outlet’s top 10 public universities.

The University of California, Davis, has received accolades for its research, the value for the dollar and the social mobility it offers graduates in three separate rankings published this month.

Forbes named UC Davis to its Top 25 Public Colleges in the nation in rankings released Tuesday (Aug. 26). The magazine noted that UC Davis students graduate with a median of $11,000 in debt — the lowest among the public standouts.
